Rules & Regulations
• Follow instructions of Police and event volunteers at staging, during and after the parade.
• NO THROWING candy or any other items from parade participants. Any items to be distributed must be handed to the person for whom they are intended for the safety of all concerned. Safety is our main concern and our parade insurance is invalid if we allow the throwing of anything from parade units.
• Any water or other spraying equipment must have prior approval from the parade coordinator. Please be mindful of small children, the elderly, or any other observer who does not wish to be sprayed!
• Parade participants may not jump onto or off of any float or moving vehicle and may not interfere with any other unit in the parade.
• Drivers of any and all vehicles in the parade must have a valid driver’s license.
• Floats must have hand-holds or barriers to secure rider in the event of sudden stops or starts, chairs or seating must be attached to float bed.
• No consumption of alcohol or any controlled substance in any parade area including but not limited to pre-parade and post-parade areas and during the parade.
• All entries must be able to maintain their speed and position throughout the parade.
• Animals must be kept under control at all times. Equestrian, canine and any other groups including animals as part of their entry are responsible for the prevention and/or removal of animal waste along the parade route, and in staging and disbanding areas. All entries involving animals must provide proof of current insurance with the entry applications.
• No “For Sale” signs may be displayed on parade entries.
• No political campaigns, commercial advertisements or entries not in
keeping with the purpose of the event will be allowed.
• The parade goes on rain or shine. All units must be prepared for
rain or cold as well as sun and heat. Participants should plan accordingly and should arrive at the staging area unless contacted by a member of the New Boston 4th of July Association.
• Any special arrangements not included above are not guaranteed by the New Boston 4th of July Association.
• The New Boston 4th of July Association holds no liability for damages and/or injury to any participant.
Failure to comply with these terms/rules may cause dismissal from the property and exclusion from participation in future events. The New Boston 4th of July Association retains the right to refuse participation to any entry on any grounds it deems appropriate.
