Pickleball Petition

We respectfully request the Healdsburg City Council to approve $150,000 for funding a dedicated outdoor pickleball facility, fully open to the public, at the Healdsburg Community Center and undertake construction as soon as possible.

Healdsburg currently has ZERO dedicated regulation pickleball courts open to the public. Regulation courts are at private clubs and resorts for the well-to-do. Social justice, equal opportunity, and visitor hospitality will be served with free public access courts.

The recommended facility of 6 courts will serve as many as 50-60 people simultaneously enjoying an invigorating game of pickleball in 30-minutes of use.  As such, it is an excellent investment in the health and social fabric of our city, especially our senior and youth communities.

If the City Council approves a $150,000 line item for construction of public access dedicated pickleball courts located at the Community Center to be built this year, the 180+ players forming the growing Pickleball Community of Healdsburg have arranged an anonymous donation of $30,000 to be put towards the construction cost.

We, sign our name and raise our voice in support and encouragement of the City Council’s affirmative vote to fund this facility in the July 2022 budget.

Thank you,

Healdsburg Pickleball Community
