NCVR represents an opportunity for primary care to increase involvement in commercial studies, which in turn could improve participant access to research. The UK strives to be the only country in the world with a truly single commercial costing and contracting process which spans both primary and secondary care.

As independent contractors, GP Practices are not required to adhere to the prices generated by the interactive Costing Tool (iCT) for commercial contract research. However, this scheme has been created to enable GP practices to voluntarily commit to stopping negotiations. This enables practices to benefit from the efficiency in study start up and business development opportunities generated by the programme.

By signing up through this form, you are agreeing to:

No negotiation on any commercial contract study that has had a national review conducted by an NHS Costing Expert in the iCT.
Using the Health Research Authority (HRA)’s unmodifiable Clinical Trials Agreement and associated unmodifiable financial appendix.
Holding this position for a minimum of 12 months.

Your practice will be included on the NIHR website and advertised to industry as holding a no-negotiation position. This can be used by industry partners in site selection decisions.
