Genuine Cup Houston 2026 is the third edition of The Genuine Cup, designed to bring athletes from around the world to promote inclusion, accessibility, and a more genuine world. 

To learn more of the impact of The Genuine Cup globally, please watch this short documentary inspired by all of those that spend their lives dedicated to making true the dream of inclusion for the neurodiverse community and the organizations that support them.

Genuine Cup Houston 2026 will take place July 28 through August 1st. 

The Genuine Cup is the premier professional soccer tournament for soccer players with IDD world wide. A standard level of professionalism is required. All matches must be treated like professional matches, including fouls, rules, and time management. More information will be provided in the official rule book.

Expectations from Referees:
This is a Volunteer role. Service can be signed and validated if needed. 

All games will be played at Rice University. Free parking will be made available for all referees.
Arrive to fields 20 minutes prior to kickoff and check in with field supervisors. 
Have a clear understanding of the Genuine Cup 2026 rules and regulations.
Act with professionalism towards players, coaches, fans, and tournament staff.
Have your own materials including but not limited to uniforms, flags, and cards.

Your role as a referee:

Yes, first and foremost you are a referee and are responsible for ensuring all games are carried out according to Genuine Cup rules and regulations. BUT, in addition, you are part of something bigger.

  • Engage with players through encouragement, high fives, hugs and genuine interaction
  • Build meaningful connections while maintaining professionalism on the field
  • Help ensure every athlete feels seen, supported, and celebrated

  • Meet referees and team representatives from all over the world!

We will have 8 fields running simultaneously, with 2 referees per field. Games will take place Tuesday through Friday during the following blocks:

Block 1: 08:00 – 10:30
Block 2: 10:40 – 13:10

Additionally, there will be a Semi-Final on Friday (7/31) at 17:00, and the Final stage on Saturday, with games in both the morning and afternoon, followed by a closing ceremony.
