Lafayette Morgan Engineering Scholarship Application Form
Lafayette Morgan attended the University of the West Indies where he studied engineering after graduating from Wolmer’s Boys School. After graduating from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Lafayette returned to Jamaica and served in various capacities where his training as an engineer and his quest to be the best at what he did, set him apart from others. Lafayette lived in Florida and was employed by the School Board of Broward County, where he was also an exemplary employee.
Lafayette Morgan died in 2015 after a short illness. To honor his memory, the Lafayette Morgan Engineering Scholarship was initiated by his children, former colleagues at the School Board of Broward County, and the South Florida Chapter of Wolmer's Alumni Association. This is an annual scholarship for students that attended Wolmer's Schools. The successful applicant must be matriculated in the engineering department of a tertiary institution. Although the scholarship is need-based, the successful applicant is expected to show the potential to graduate having been successful in the college courses completed thus far. The scholarship is granted in July of each year and caries a value of $500.
