Hullabaloo U Peer Mentor Application
Hullabaloo U is a year-long, 0 credit hour first-year experience course designed to create a welcoming and affirming environment for each new student. Students will develop self‐efficacy, self‐awareness, and a sense of purpose; become actively engaged in the learning environment inside and outside of the classroom; and become socially integrated within the university community. Each section of Hullabaloo U is limited to no more than 25 students and led by a faculty/staff instructor and an undergraduate peer mentor.
Hullabaloo U Peer Mentors serve as a role model, resource, and leader for a small group of first-year Aggies. With Fall 2019 marking the first pilot implementation of the Hullabaloo U course across campus, you have the opportunity to leave a legacy as the first class of Hullabaloo U Peer Mentors and establish a precedent for future students. As a Peer Mentor, you will serve alongside a faculty or staff member as a co-instructor for one section of the Hullabaloo U first year experience course. In your role, you will help new students make a successful transition to Aggieland, get involved on-campus, succeed in the classroom, and create a sense of belonging in the broader Aggie Community.
