Bus MoC is a mentoring and academic support program designed to prepare first-time business freshmen men of color (African American/Black, Native American/Indigenous, Asian, Pacific Islander, Desi, Latino/x, Biracial, and Multiracial) from all gender expressions to successfully navigate the transition from high school to college. Our goal is to connect you with different opportunities and resources to enrich your academic experience at Cal Poly Pomona.
Our vision is for all BusMoC scholars to be prepared, connected, and empowered to pursue academic success, personal well-being, and successfully transition into their second year at Cal Poly Pomona.
BusMoC Requirements and Expectations
Must be a full-time (12 units each term) registered Cal Poly Pomona student for the entire 2023 – 2024 academic year
Must be an entering first-year Freshman
Must fully complete and submit this application
Expected to maintain a minimum of 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) during the program, with the goal to achieve no less than a 2.5 cumulative GPA
Expected to participate in regular grade checks throughout the academic year
Must commit to attending ALL of the BusMoC Tuesday Gatherings, and at least 4 Social Gatherings, Events, and Kin group meetings each semester.
Must be willing to meet one-on-one with mentors, faculty and staff on a bi-weekly basis.
