Policy Coordinator Application
STAND is building a network of informed, committed student advocates. As the Policy Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for finding a wide range of advocacy positions and guiding STAND in what we should be advocating for. In close collaboration with the Education Coordinator and our partner organizations in the atrocity prevention movement, you’ll help coordinate STAND’s policy “asks” - that is, opportunities for U.S. policymakers to address our conflicts of concern, whether it’s legislation, a presidential appointment, or support of a UN Security Council resolution. You’ll then work with the Campaigns Coordinator to turn these policy points into accessible, responsible, and well-informed actions around which our members can organize. Finally, you’ll work with our Grassroots Organizing Team to identify states and congressional districts in which more grassroots capacity is needed in order to effectively target the decision-makers we need to influence.

* Note: MC Members should expect to spend an average of 10 hours per week in their role, and all MC members are expected to attend two (expenses-paid) retreats in Washington, DC in summer 2017 and winter 2018 for training, bonding, and campaign planning! Applicants should be prepared to attend weekly MC Calls and weekly Programmatic or Outreach Calls, based on position. *

Applications are due on Friday, March 31 at 11:59 PM. Please direct any questions to info@standnow.org.
