Students who register during term 3 with the Digital Learning School are expected to remain within the online learning environment until the new transition period opens (May 3, 2021). If you are unsure if the online environment is an approach that your student would be successful in please call for more detailed information on the expectations and routines of the Digital Learning School.

Criteria For Student Success in Digital Learning
It is important to recognize that learning in the digital environment is often more challenging than in the classroom. For students to be successful in the digital learning environment families must be committed in the following ways.

It is important that the students have access to an internet connection during the school day. *
For student success it is important that there is someone at home to check in with students and ensure that assigned tasks are being completed and that students are attending the necessary Zoom sessions. *

Orientation to Digital Learning
It is important that both the parent/guardian and the student attend the orientation session and complete the required technology lessons. The orientation will consist of a Zoom meeting (either during the day or in the evening) and the completion of a set of technology lessons specific to your student's grade. Both the orientation session and the technology lessons must be completed before your student begins their online classes with the Digital Learning School.

Consent For Using Video Conferencing At Home
Good Spirit School Division places a priority on the safety and well-being of our students. The online platforms used for your child’s learning have all been vetted to ensure your privacy is protected. The Local Authority of Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (LAFOIP) must be followed when images and names of students will be shared within the virtual class. Printed Materials and Book Distribution
Printing of learning materials is available for families who would like it. Families are required to pick up the printed class materials each week (Friday afternoons) at the student's home school.

Library material and some class books will also be distributed using this system. Families will be notified if there is a book that needs to be picked up.
