It's time to choose our 2021 CHES Teacher of the Year!

Chesterfield County Public Schools' Teacher of the Year program consists of an elementary school teacher of the year, a middle school teacher of the year and a high school teacher of the year. From this group, a committee of school division leaders will select the 2021 Chesterfield County Public Schools Teacher of the Year. The school division's 2021 Teacher of the Year will represent Chesterfield County in the Region I Teacher of the Year selection process.

As in the past, the school division's Teacher of the Year will receive $1,000. The two remaining finalists will receive $500. Each school’s teacher of the year will receive a financial reward as well.

The Teacher of the Year program is open to all teachers in prekindergarten through grade 12 who possess a current, renewable Virginia teaching license. This potential group of honorees includes librarians, school counselors and reading specialists. Candidates should be dedicated, knowledgeable and skilled; they should have multiple professional development experiences as a participant and a presenter; and should be actively engaged in the community.

** Teachers must be in good standing during the 2019-20 school year and plan to return to their current school during the 2020-21 school year. Candidates may not be participating in SRP during the 2020-21 school year, as they are technically retired. **

The 2021 CHES Teacher of the Year will be announced before the Action Team Meetings on Tuesday, March 17.
