Thank you for endorsing a statewide ballot initiative to phase out new oil and gas/fracking permits by 2030! Let's stand together to protect our water, land and air, a safe climate, environmental justice, and a just transition for the workers and communities currently most dependent on oil and gas extraction.
You can

The oil and gas industry is CO's #1 source of GHG emissions and ozone pollution. Colorado is 4th and 7th in the US for oil and gas production, respectively, contributing significantly to the climate crisis. Oil and gas companies export out of state ~90% of the oil and 75% of the gas extracted in CO. According to a Colorado Fiscal Institute Report "Clearing the Air", the oil and gas industry accounts for only 3.3% of CO's economy and 0.7% of jobs, but it's costing Coloradans dearly. The impacts include
harms to public health and safety, massive consumption and degradation of water sources, worsening wildfires, droughts and extreme weather and negative impacts on agriculture, winter sports, and other sectors of the economy. A better, cleaner, more just energy future is possible. Learn more about the effort and how to get involved at www.safeandhealthyco.org.
