KCAW Recorded PSA Request
KCAW is proud to offer free promotional services to nonprofit organizations, governmental agencies, community organizers, and individuals. A description of all the ways KCAW supports local organizing can be found in our update promotional policy.

KCAW is happy to produce recorded PSAs to air in our daily program schedule. Please follow the steps in this form to request this service!

There are a few things to keep in mind when filling out this form:
  1. Recorded PSAs can not contain political or editorial statements.  If you would like to air a political or editorial statement, please contact our News Director about producing a “Commentary”. 
  2. No calls to political action.  For example, you cannot say, “Go out and vote on such-and-such bill” or “Attend this rally”. 
  3. No offensive language or language that criticizes or ridicules individuals, groups, organizations or institutions.
  4. We will run these spots for a maximum of 14 days. Please plan accordingly, and give our staff/volunteers ample advanced notice for your spot.

What is your PSA script? *
You must prepare your final script in advance. The length of your entire PSA must not exceed 29 seconds. (if you're not sure, use a word counter and limit it to 45 to 55 words. If you wish to incorporate music into your PSA, your script should be no longer than 23-25 seconds (30 to 40 words) to allow for a little music at the beginning and end. It is important to think about Who, What, When, Where, and How while writing and recording your PSA.

Please note song name, artist, and album. Please note that we discourage the use of vocals as background music for PSAs as they distract from the spoken message. If your song does not have 30 seconds of instrumental music to use as a bed, we may not be able to use it!
