Central Ohio AFP - Call for Speakers
Application Process for 2020
The Central Ohio Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) holds monthly education seminars for members and guests. In an effort to provide the best training and events possible, the Chapter invites professionals and subject matter experts to submit proposals for future education programs and events.

Submissions are now being accepted for 2020. All submitted proposals will be reviewed by the AFP Education Committee. Due to a high volume of submissions, not all proposals will be accepted. Please include all required and relevant information to be properly and fairly considered. If selected, you will be contacted directly by the Chapter.

Submissions are due by September 30, 2019. Speakers will be contacted no later than November 30, 2019.

Evaluation Criteria
Central Ohio AFP exists to empower, support and engage individuals who fundraise in our community. For full consideration, the proposed session must clearly identify the target audience and be delivered by a speaker with substantial topic knowledge and experience facilitating a learning environment.

Proposals are evaluated against the following criteria:
• Potential to attract and stimulate the interest and concerns of fundraisers
• Programs and best-practices that demonstrate measurable impact and results
• Qualifications and experience of the presenter(s)
• Promotion of a range of perspectives in support of diversity, equity and inclusion
• Uniqueness of the topic and/or presentation
• Clear, specific and informative content directly linked to learning objectives for a variety of skill levels
• Completeness, accuracy and clarity of the proposal

All programs will be submitted for continuing education approval for CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) credits.

Session Format
The traditional meeting date is the second Tuesday of every month. Each session should have at least one presenter/moderator and no more than four who represent different organizations, to ensure a diverse range of voices and perspectives are represented. There are two general formats for sessions:

• General Education Sessions are 60 minutes long and average about 75 - 125 guests.
Appropriate for experienced or advanced presenters.
• Targeted Workshop Sessions are 45 minutes long and average 50 - 75 guests.
Appropriate for beginner, experienced or advanced presenters.

General sessions may be offered at breakfast, lunch, or happy hour. In addition to those times, targeted workshops may also be considered as a pre-lunch session or separate low cost add on event on an alternate date.

Who Can Submit a Proposal?
Submissions are open to the public, regardless of membership status or previous roles within the community. In particular, individuals and organizations that have not presented previously at an AFP Central Ohio monthly meeting and those from underrepresented communities and perspectives are encouraged to participate.

**Submissions should not be considered a sales opportunity for your company, firm or product. For marketing opportunities, please consider sponsoring AFP Central Ohio Chapter’s National Philanthropy Day.**
