Disclaimer For Somatic Mentoring II

DISCLAIMER:  The information in this program and on this site is not intended or implied to be a substitute for professional medical care, medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.  This program offers suggestions for helping to regulate the body’s intrinsic rhythms and healing energies.  You and your clients’ safety come first.  These strategies offer many good things to many people, but it is not a fit for everyone.  If you have any questions or concerns about whether or not this Online Training is appropriate for you or a client, please contact a trauma informed mental health practitioner or consult with a trusted Supervisor.  You are responsible for your choice to listen to the recordings, try the exercises and read the literature - and are responsible for your well-being and mental health during these lectures and discussions.  Your experience will be unique to you, your background, your history and life situation.  You may experience emotions and body sensations when you listen to the Guided Meditations, which is not uncommon and totally normal.  However, if you feel you cannot listen and stay safe, please discontinue.  You may experience unusual sensations in your body, shifts, releases and/or discharges as you follow the Guided Embodiment and Inner Meditations. This again is normal and means your body is opening, releasing and finding more flow.  However, if you feel extremes of any of these and unsure about your safety, it is your responsibility to consult with a trauma-informed mental health practitioner.

For most utilizing this learning format, experiencing themselves more deeply and with more aliveness and embodiment will be rewarding. If you are in any way concerned about your ability to handle body sensations or emotions that may surface, you are advised not to participate in this program.  Perhaps 1-1 learning would be more appropriate at this time.  Additionally, if you have a history of mental illness or regularly take a benzodiazepine, you are advised against registering.  This is a self-paced program with some Zoom Group learning experiences, but it is not a substitute for 1-1 therapy.

This training is for participants who are actively involved in providing therapy or working in some capacity with clients/students and want to learn more about application of neurobiology, polyvagal theory, mind-body approaches, trauma healing and attachment healing methodologies, i.e. the Participant should have an active caseload.  Students in programs with internships and practice caseloads are also invited to participate.
In summary, do not participate in this program if you have reservations about it, about your response to embodiment practices or tracking sensations.  Participation in this program is solely at your own decision.  You understand that Somatic Mentoring is not responsible for your success or failure in this program, in applying these techniques in your clinical practice or warranties of any kind, that this will provide a particular result for you and/or your clients.  The content of this material is for educational and informational purposes only.
