Art Quest, AURORA’s annual community art discovery program, returns on Saturday, July 18th to South Dallas! From 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM, the African American Museum Dallas will host an exciting daytime celebration of art, performance, music, food, and community - ALL FOR FREE!

This year, Art Quest introduces a thrilling theatrical element in partnership with Teatro Dallas, who will reveal scavenger hunt clues through live performative moments. Participants will drive and follow clues hidden throughout the neighborhood for a chance to win an animated digital illustration, as well as an original print illustration by featured artist Lakeem Wilson.

After the quest, stay for artist meet-and-greets, hands-on art activities, live music, and free food and drinks with local community partners. Plus, registered Art Quest participants can physically pick up complimentary tickets generously provided by Meow Wolf to experience their interactive, immersive museum in Grapevine (tickets must be claimed in person at the event).

¡Art Quest, el programa anual de descubrimiento artístico y comunitario de AURORA, regresa el sábado 18 de julio a South Dallas! De 10:00 AM a 2:00 PM, el African American Museum Dallas será sede de una emocionante jornada de arte, performance, música, comida y celebración comunitaria - TODO GRATIS! 

Este año, Art Quest presenta un nuevo elemento teatral en colaboración con Teatro Dallas, quienes revelarán pistas para la búsqueda del tesoro a través de intervenciones performáticas en vivo. Los participantes seguirán pistas escondidas por todo el vecindario para tener la oportunidad de ganar una ilustración digital, así como una ilustración original en tinta del artista destacado Lakeem Wilson.

Después de la búsqueda, acompáñanos para convivir con los artistas, participar en actividades de arte, disfrutar de música en vivo, y compartir comida y bebidas gratuitas junto a organizaciones comunitarias locales. Además, los participantes registrados podrán recoger en persona boletos gratuitos cortesía de Meow Wolf para visitar su museo interactivo e inmersivo en Grapevine (los boletos solamente podrán reclamarse en persona durante el evento).

  • 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM: The Driving Quest! Follow clues to find hidden Art Quest cards throughout South Dallas. The first to present all cards wins the original artwork by Lakeem Wilson! / ¡La Búsqueda en Auto! Sigue las pistas para encontrar las tarjetas escondidas de Art Quest por todo South Dallas. ¡La primera persona en presentar todas las tarjetas ganará las obras de arte de Lakeem Wilson!

  • 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM: Community Celebration! Music, local partners, art activities, and complimentary food and drinks / ¡Celebración comunitaria! Música, organizaciones locales, actividades artísticas, y comida y bebidas gratuitas.
