Executive functioning skills are the basis for planning, organizing, initiating, and following through on all tasks, assignments, and problems inside and outside school. Students who forget assignments, are disorganized, can’t complete long-term projects, and have trouble focusing, often have weak executive functioning skills.
Executive functioning skills targeted in this class include planning, organization, time management, task initiation, working memory, metacognition, self-control, sustained attention, flexibility, and perseverance. This class serves as a basic introduction to each of these skills and will be offered 4x a year.Â
Students will meet on Mondays at the following times:
Grades 3-5:Â Â Â 9:00
Grades 6-8Â Â Â 10:00
Classes will generally last about 30 minutes and will not be recorded.Â
