Girls on the Run of Greater Mankato: Spring 2020 Coach Application
We are now accepting applications for coaches to help with our 2020 Girls on the Run spring season! Girls on the Run believes that ALL GIRLS are born with power and purpose. Using a fun, research-based curriculum that creatively integrates running*, we inspire every girl to reach her limitless potential, not just for the length of our program, but for life.
We are looking for adult leaders to facilitate our 12-week Girls on the Run program in a variety of locations. Coaches must commit to one or more afternoons per week for the entire session. Our Spring 2020 Season launches in February and runs through early May.
--> Attend Girls on the Run coach training
--> Be willing to undergo a background check
--> Serve as a role model for program participants
--> Collaborate with other coaches for successful lesson delivery
--> Participate in the Girls on the Run 5K (May 2, 2019 - exceptions can be made due to scheduling conflicts)
*You are not required to be a runner to be a coach.

What does being a mentor mean to you?
An important part of youth development is relationship continuity. Coaches are expected to make a commitment of 12 weeks to this program. How would you see this role fitting into your current schedule and priorities?

Girls on the Run meets after school on weekdays. You would be asked to be at your location from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Please check all potential days you would be available during those times.
