SIGNING UP - Fill out the application below to apply for a spot in WorshipArts. Shortly before we begin practices, we will send out an email to let students know if they were placed on a team. Team placements depend on student age, availability, skill and character as well as the date of the submitted application.
COURSE LOAD - We expect students to be working on building their skills throughout the season, on a daily and weekly basis. WorshipArts only works when students are able and willing to make a commitment to invest time into the seeds of talent God has placed inside them. The exact time spent will vary for each student. The expected commitment also includes attending each weekly rehearsal and scheduled ministry night.
TUITION - Each track is a total of four $50 payments. The first payment is due at the Orientation Meeting JANUARY 12TH. The other three payments are due by the first of February, March, and April. There is a $10 late fee for payments after those dates. Also, to help with the cost of the facility, there is a $40 building fee due at the first meeting.
LOCATION - Rehearsals and meetings will take place at the WorshipArts Building, 2020 Fulford St in Kalamazoo, MI.
APEX - Every single student in every single track participates in our end of the season worship celebration called APEX, MAY 17 & 18. The weekend will be divided into sessions, and a schedule will be sent out so that family and friends can be invited to the appropriate timeframe(s), and will be located at a local church, TBA.
TRAVELING MINISTRY TEAMS - Dunamis and Seraphim Omega will be required to attend 4-8 ministry events throughout the spring. A certain character and maturity is required to be on these teams as they will be serving local ministries and frequently be setting examples. Also, there are skill and age requirements that are less flexible than other teams. In most cases, two weeks notice will be given before traveling events. Ministry team members will be expected to pay close attention to emails that are sent out.
OTHER EVENTS - All students & at least one parent (for students under 18) must attend the Mandatory Orientation Meeting on JANUARY 12TH, 10 AM - 12 PM in Kalamazoo at the WorshipArts Building. There will be a $20 fee for parents/students who can't attend. On APRIL 13TH there is a High school photoshoot followed by the Horizon Night of Worship led by all WorshipArts High School students. In addition, there will be a high school pizza party the Tuesday after APEX: MAY 21ST.
MISSING REHEARSALS - Students cannot miss rehearsals that aren't approved before the season begins. Please think through your conflicts for the entire season and list them when you turn in your application (past conflicts students have shared include: youth group retreats, family vacations, school plays, doctor visits, sports practices/games, church commitments, Great-Grandma's 90th birthday, etc.). We will take all conflicts listed on the application into account. If something comes up after the season has begun (sickness, family emergency, etc.) we will show grace one time. Each team depends heavily on each student's participation. After a number of absences, you could be asked to leave the team without reimbursement of paid tuition.
COMMUNICATION - All notices are sent out via Email. At the bottom of each email there is a running calendar of upcoming events with all known details about each. In addition, there is a Students and Family Facebook group that also contains all of the emails that we send.
