Life and Health of Patients Seeking an Abortion
We are looking for patients (or their partners or spouses), clinicians and hospital administrators who have experience navigating the gray areas of pregnancy, birth and risks to the health or life of pregnant people. FiveThirtyEight reporters Maggie Koerth and Amelia Thomson-DeVeaux are interested in better understanding how legislation (and hospital policy) limiting abortions with exceptions to preserve the life or health of the mother play out in real-world scenarios. We want to hear about situations where the medical reality is not as clean-cut as the rules are written to see how families and caregivers follow the law and standard medical practice at the same time. If this describes you, please fill out this form and we may get in touch for an upcoming story.
