Geelong United Basketball is seeking expressions of interest for VJBL Try Out Lead Coach's for the upcoming 2024/25 VJBL try outs.
Try Out Lead Coach's will be appointed for the duration of the tryout process and will oversee specific age groups to complete the following tasks:
- Coordinate age-group coach cohort for trials, including attendance at relevant Geelong United Basketball's Community Competition, for either the U12 and U14 Age groups or U16 and U18 Age groups
- Attend and conduct on-court try out sessions.
- Assist in the final selection of athletes to appropriate team.
- Assist in the appointment of coaches to selected teams.
The duration of this role is approximately 5 weeks including:
- 3 weeks of Next Step Talent Identification program
- Two weekends of scheduled VJBL Tryouts.
VJBL Try out lead coach's will execute their role in partnership with GUB coach & Athlete Development Manager, Simon Nicholson.
IMPORTANT:
Appointments to a VJBL Try out Lead Coach position DOES NOT exclude a candidate from consideration for a VJBL team coaching position. A candidate can complete their responsibilities as a VJBL try out lead coach BEFORE assuming a a VJBL Coaching role, should they be offered a team appointment.
Expressions of Interest will be accepted until 5pm Friday the 2nd of August.
