PathFinder Interest Form for New Applicants

Thank you for your interest in the PathFinder vocational training program! 

What is PathFinder? PathFinder offers post-secondary vocational workshops to help trainees develop skills for community and self-employment in areas such as customer service, creative design, entrepreneurial skills, and sous chef! Applicants should have sufficient classroom skills to sit and attend to instruction. All sessions include:

  • regular progress monitoring, 
  • soft skills development, 
  • creation of person-centered plans, 
  • small ratios (max capacity per workshop is 10 trainees, with 3 instructors),
  • and development of individualized workforce tools!

Criteria: Please review the entrance criteria document linked to the PathFinder webpage before completing this form to make sure the applicant meets the entrance criteria. PathFinder requires that trainees are independent in self-care and we do not administer medications or provide medical care. 

Individuals with certain behaviors are not eligible for PathFinder workshops per Beacons' service agreement with the San Diego Regional Center. In the event accepted individuals demonstrate behaviors that are not consistent with the entrance criteria after starting, they may be exited from the PathFinder vocational program. 

Sessions:

1. Spring and Fall (5 days a week) :  Four-month sessions are held in the spring and fall and consist of daily instruction (3-hours a day M-Th, and 2+ hours on Fridays) for a total of 240 vocational training hours per session. 

Want fewer days? If the applicant is searching for an option that provides fewer days or 2 or 3 days a week, please consider our other options such as: Explorer (vocational), Studio (creative arts) or Voyager (self-determination groups). 

To join the interest list: Please complete this questionnaire as there are certain entrance criteria that must be met to proceed with the application process. After this form is reviewed, our staff will reach out to discuss availability and next steps as applicable.
