This Leadership Development Workshop is designed for farmers and food council members with an interest in taking on a leadership role in their communities. The Workshop will provide an introduction to fundamental leadership skills; describe local-level leadership opportunities; explain how others taking advantage of these opportunities are making decisions that have an impact on your farm; and connect you to farmers and sustainable ag supporters who have or are currently serving in leadership roles.
Workshop hours are tentatively scheduled for 9AM to 5PM on Thursday, November 2 and 9AM to 4PM on Friday, November 3. On Thursday, we will be at Durham County Cooperative Extension, 721 Foster Street in Durham. On Friday we will be at the SAC hotel.
This is a competitive application process with up to 30 accepted participants. Sponsorship enables us to offer the course for a significantly reduced fee of $80 for CFSA members and $95 for non-members. This fee does NOT cover lodging, travel expenses, or dinner either day.
Applications are due by September 18, 2017. Applicants will be notified if they've been admitted to the Workshop by September 22, 2017.
