Welcome Back Picnic - 09/19
An all-school gathering! We need hands to set up, serve pre-ordered food, and clean up after the event. This is a family friendly evening event to kick off the school year and connect with new friends and families.
Walk and Bike to School - 10/02
A worldwide event where students walk or bike to school and volunteers greet them upon arrival. Volunteers help map distances biked/walked and distribute prizes to participants. This event occurs in the morning.
Sock Hop - 10/17
The sock hop is a fun school spirit style event for students. Volunteers are needed to judge crazy socks and dancers during this lunch/recess event.
Book Fair - October
Traditional fair where volunteers assist in set up, tear down, restocking books, and operating cash registers in our school library. Volunteers will be needed before, during, and/or after school. Time slots will be approximately 2 hours long.
STEM Night - February
An evening event held at Westridge where students explore all things science. This is a teacher-led event, but volunteers are needed for the following: creation of theme-based decor (this can be done from home), set up day of, and tear down following the event.
Clean Up Day - 04/18
A school event where parents, students, and staff join together to beautify our campus. Activities include: trash removal, potting plants, and power washing, etc.
Staff/Teacher Appreciation Week - May
A week aimed at celebrating our fabulous teachers and staff. Daily events range from creating floral bouquets, providing coffee and lunches, and collecting cards for teachers and staff. We need volunteers to assist in the execution of this event. Assistance is primarily needed during the mornings and lunch time hours.
Musical Theater - March
This is an all-school production where volunteers are needed to provide support during rehearsals and performance times too. Responsibilities may include: set design, chaperoning, makeup, costume design, etc. Many volunteer duties can be completed from home (i.e. set and costume design).
Carnival - 05/29
A family-friendly evening event hosted on the Westridge campus. Volunteers are needed for things including: planning the event, setting up and tearing down, scheduling food trucks, setting up booths, selling tickets, and managing games/booths. If you're interested in leading/chairing this committee, please indicate so at the bottom of this form.
Assist with activities like staff appreciation week, luncheons, potlucks, and stocking items in the teacher break room. Major events are held in the winter and spring. This committee is also responsible for set up and tear down of hospitality-led events.
Green Committee
Westridge is a certified green school, and this committee focuses on creating initiatives (such as bulk ordering school supplies) to maintain this status.
Art Literacy
This dynamic program offers students the opportunity to learn about specific artists and art styles through volunteer-led activities. We need volunteers for each classroom to present monthly art lessons. This is a fun and interactive way to become directly involved with your student's classroom!
Room Parents
Room parent volunteers are needed in every classroom to plan and execute class parties and events and to serve as a liaison between teacher and parents as the teacher feels necessary.
Wildcat Spirit Wear
Volunteers needed to assist in sorting orders, setting up spirit wear booths, and selling Wildcat gear at school events throughout the year.
New Families Committee
Host introductions to Westridge as needed when new families join our school.
Community & Social Events
Assist in developing parent relationships and a strong Wildcat network through the creation of fun events such as playground play dates and parent night outs.
Yearbook & Photography
Photography skills and creative minds needed! Take pictures throughout the year for your child's grade level and assist in yearbook design!
Student Newspaper
Volunteers needed to assist students with subject matter, to edit content, and to print newspapers for school-wide distribution.
Library Helpers
Volunteers needed to re-shelve books, organize books, and assist our school librarian in other ways needed.
Flexible Help!
Do you want to volunteer but you're not quite sure exactly what you want to do or what your schedule will allow? Maybe you're available to help out here and there, at different times of the day, and for varying lengths of time? Please consider signing up for flexible help if this is the case! We'll contact you on an as-needed basis when volunteer needs arise. This is a very important volunteer role!
