Game On, funded by a U.S. Department of Education grant, helps schools establish or expand culturally relevant AP Computer Science Principles (AP CSP) courses through Game Design. The program is free* for eligible schools. 

What’s Included:

  • Comprehensive College Board Endorsed AP CSP curriculum.
  • Mandatory Virtual Summer Professional Learning (40 hours in July).
  • Monthly Year-long Professional Learning Community and instructional coaching.
  • Access to cutting-edge technology and expert support.
  • Teacher stipends up to $2,000 (for eligible participants).

*Eligibility: Open to U.S. public schools, particularly those serving low-income communities. Non-public schools may contact amy.patterson@urbanarts.org for alternative participation options.

Should our school be selected and agree to implement the program, the designated computer science teacher will be required to participate in 40 hours of professional learning in July—30 hours of synchronous sessions and 10 hours of asynchronous work. Additionally, the teacher will attend monthly professional learning sessions throughout the year.
