APPLICATION for Maricopa County Parks Master Naturalist Program, Jan-May 2022 Training Course
We are pleased to announce the application for the 2022 Maricopa County Parks Master Naturalist Chapter Training Course. While 2021 has been an unprecedented year, we have learned a lot and are excited to convene a new group of MCPMN members willing to work toward shared goals of equity and inclusion in natural history programs; providing leadership as volunteers for our partner organizations, and cultivating an experience where everyone can thrive.

As of September 2021, the plan is to conduct this course online. We will work to try to put together in person field experiences throughout the course, but that is subject to change based upon our community's response to the COVID pandemic. The course will run from January 12 through May 4, 2022. The classes will be held via Zoom on Wednesday evening from 5:30-8:30. Field labs will be conducted in a variety of parks within Maricopa County on one or two Saturday mornings per month.

If you are interested in participating in this journey, please complete this application by November 20, 2021 at midnight Arizona time to be CONSIDERED as a participant in the 2022 Maricopa County Parks MN Course.

There is a non-refundable $20 application fee required in order to be considered for the program. You will receive instructions on how to remit the fee once you submit this application form. Upon acceptance into the program, the registration fee of $280 is expected to be paid by December 15, 2021 to reserve your seat in the course. The online course will begin on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.

Based upon your responses below and a subsequent brief interview, the committee will determine if you are accepted. Criteria include availability to participate in the course at the given time, ability to volunteer, reason for taking the course, and commitment to providing feedback and assistance for our chapter. Previous academic achievement is NOT a driving factor in your selection. We seek to bring together a cohort of people who are open-minded and willing to work together on projects for our community. If you are not selected for this cohort and wish to be considered for a future course, we will keep you on our email list. If you have any questions about the process, contact info-MCPMN@azmasternaturalist.org.
