All content is pre-recorded, and you may use it as an in-class lesson or as an independent or group assignment.

2020-2021 Digital Education Season

GALita presents Indigenous Connections/ Conexiónes Indígenas: a creative digital lesson in storytelling form featuring Indigenous cultural history, traditions and recipes from the geographic region now known as Latinoamérica.
Ages 6-11. Closed captioning.
Pre-recorded performance available from October 26, 2020 through June 15, 2021
Video duration: 25-30 minutes
Complimentary materials: A packet and worksheets on Mayan culture and folk tales, sent with payment confirmation and video access link.
Cost: $20.00 per classroom (a classroom is defined as a class of 1-30 individuals, including teachers and aides)

El Perro del hortelano (The Dog in the Manger) by Lope de Vega
The “Shakespeare of Spain” brings us this Spanish Golden Age classic about the complications of class conflict in 16th century Naples, told in an abstract modern setting. In Spanish with bilingual closed captioning.
Ages 13 and up.
Pre-recorded performance available from November 2, 2020 through January 31, 2021.
Video duration: 90 minutes
Complimentary materials: Study guide, available for direct download at www.galatheatre.org/education
Cost: $2.00 per individual. Each individual will receive their own access code with an expiration date. An individual is defined as a student, teacher, aide, or other educational entity.

Optional pre-show workshop for El perro del hortelano
A bilingual teaching artist can lead the students through a pre-show workshop that discusses themes of the show and components of theatre. This is available between October 2, 2020 and January 31, 2021 at a cost of $50.00 per classroom. (A classroom is defined as a class of 1-30 individuals, including teachers and aides).
