Current GEG situation
In the past month, I have been working with the current leaders to compile a comprehensive list of the 44 active/inactive GEGs. The ones listed as 'active' are ones with up-to-date sites / forums for any educators to request to join. These active ones will appear on our GEG directory map which will be launching in the Teacher Center on May 4th (this will replace the outdated communities page linked above). I will share the link next week back on this thread.
Action for you (completely optional) by 5/15
In the past week, I have been having very meaningful conversations with our EDU regional managers around how we can leverage expert G Suite users like yourself (and Innovators) to help their K12 districts' issues. Collectively, we decided that leveraging GEGs is the ideal solution since GEGs can provide the regional support educators (across all districts) hope for and need.
The ultimate goal is to have a GEG in each region so that anybody who needs support from esteemed leaders like yourself can find a thoughtful community to join in their areas.
Now, since we currently only have ~30 active GEGs here, I'm hoping some of you Trainers would be interested in stepping up in becoming official GEG leaders in regions where we currently do not have any community support (again, please see the 'comprehensive list' linked above to see where the current ones exist). If you are interested, please fill out this form by Friday May 15th and I'll get you started.
Again, the current list of GEGs in Canada and the US is here:
