NairoBits Digital Literacy Program (DLP) Training Application: Cohort 1-XXII (January - April 2022)
NairoBits Trust is a Kenyan non-profit that uses ICT to empower disadvantaged youth between the ages of 17 to 24 years who come from the informal settlements of Nairobi. We offer programs that unlock careers in tech through digital skills training and professional integration with the labor market. Since its inception, the organisation has impacted the lives of over 9,000 youth in Kenya and continues to make tech accessible as a life changing and solution building tool in the lives of vulnerable youth for shared impact.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Level One Training

Course Objective: An introduction to the computer basics, internet & design. Level one students are introduced to the basics of graphic design, internet tools, digital marketing, online work, life-skills and entrepreneurship, over a period of twelve weeks.

REQUIREMENTS;

1. The applicant should be between the age of 17 to 29 years.
2. Be a member of community youth group/community based organisation (CBO).
3. Commitment to complete the full course (12 weeks)

- Wanawake kwa Wanawake(WKW) - Langata/Kibra
- Edmud Rice Center Nairobi - Langata/Kibra
- Human Needs Project Center (HNP) - Kibera Town Center

APPLICATION DEADLINE: January 9th, 2022; 2359 Hrs

Shortlisting & Communication: 10th January, 2022
Interview Dates Lot One: 18th, 19th, 20th January 2022 (YIKE, NYENDO, MOH centers respectfully)
Feedback on Selected Student: 21st January 2022 ( YIKE, NYENDO, MOH Centers)
Interview Dates Lot Two: 25th, 26th, 27th January 2022 (HNP, WKW, EDMUD RICE centers respectfully)
Feedback on Selected Student: 28th January 2022 ( HNP, WKW, EDMUD RICE Centers)
Students Orientation at Respective Centres: 31 January, 2022

COURSE DURATION:
12 Weeks. Monday to Friday .31st January - 21st April 2022

Note: Successful candidates must report with at least half of the commitment fee on their first day at the training centres. The fee AMOUNT will be advised by the respective centers on the interview day.
