WHY STREAM CAMP?STREAM Camp teaches a variety of specialized courses including Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics. STREAM Camp classes are taught by experienced teachers! Every learning activity is tailored to the children’s grade and age for students going into grades 2 through 8 in the fall. These activities will include programming, robotics, 3D design, electronics, science, and team challenges. In conjunction with Pope Francis’ Laudato Si letter, students will relate activities to help the environment and serve humanity to achieve a greater appreciation for “our common home.”
STREAM camp is open to students from any school who will be in 2nd through 8th grade in the fall of 2019. Students older than grade 8 are encouraged to volunteer at camp for which the receive the benefits of attending STREAM Camp and at the same time gaining valuable work experience and service hours if needed.
Last year, four weeks of STREAM Camp were offered, two at Saint Ann and two at Saint Raphael. Last year’s camp hours were 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and cost $250 per week. Extended care was offered for a separate fee from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Based on feedback and the popularity of last year’s camp, we are looking at ways to make STREAM Camp 2019 even better by asking your opinion about adding or changing camp dates and locations, extending camp hours, and improving the registration & payment process. For example, installment plans and online credit card/e-check payments may help more children become STREAM campers! We also have some ideas for new programs, and themes and would love your feedback on these ideas. You have an opportunity now to send us your ideas as well. Even if you do not plan to send your child, we want to know that too and why!
