Adult Volunteer Sign Up - 2024 Big Event
Event Date: Saturday, April 27th, 2023

The Big Event started at Texas A&M University in 1982 and has grown now to many university and high school campuses across the country putting on their own event. It is a one day service event where students and staff going out into our community to complete service projects. These projects are anything from cutting down tree limbs, planting flowers, pulling weeds, and even walking dogs!

The goal of The Big Event is to say THANK YOU to our community for being supportive of Northwest ISD.  It is a great way to teach students the importance of serving our community while at the same time giving back and doing something to show our appreciation for all the wonderful support we have here at NISD. Northwest and Eaton High Schools have been putting on their own events over the past years, but it will now be a district wide event hosted by all four high school Student Councils. See more information from Texas A&M about the Big Event at https://bigevent.tamu.edu/about/

We are looking for adult volunteers to lead our students as they serve in our NISD communities. We will have jobs that will help individual families, businesses, parks, and communities.  Students will meet at their home campus and be bused to the host campus (Byron Nelson) for opening ceremonies and breakfast prior to heading out to complete assigned jobs.  You will return to your home campus once you have completed your job.

Participants will receive breakfast, snacks, water, transportation, and the official Big Event t-shirt.
