Students who apply by the above deadline will be recognized during their program's competition awards lunch.
Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis. Only a limited number of scholarships are available.
Individuals are limited to receiving this scholarship once in their lifetime.
All Other Students Deadline:
Students who are not part of CREATE, Design Build or BITA, may apply at the regular registration price of $1,450 and applicants are due by April 7, 2024.
About:
The CREATE Summer Camp is a five-day, four-night program that introduces students to careers in construction, re-development, engineering, architecture and the trades. Students will design and build a project for a local nonprofit, complete a needs assessment, meet industry executives, tour active job sites, explore Sacramento and the bay area, and stay at CSU, Sacramento.
Eligibility:- Must be a current sophomore or junior high school student.
- Must intend to pursue a career in the built environment.
- Scholarships are provided only for students participating in the CREATE Mentoring, Design Build, and BITA Programs.
- Students who are not a part of these programs are eligible to participate at the regular registration fee of $1,450.
Fees:Scholarship Award Recipients will have a reduced registration fee of $250 ($1,200 Scholarship). The Registration Fee for Non-Scholarship Participants is $1,450 and includes all housing, food, transportation and supply expenses during the course of the Summer Camp. Financial aid is available to cover the additional $250 for those who qualify.
Additional Information:Students are responsible for their own transportation in getting to Sacramento State University on Monday, June 17 and transportation home on Friday, June 21. Students are also asked to bring a laptop or tablet device (if available) for design activities. Students are supervised by staff from the Construction Industry Education Foundation and contracted college mentors.
