Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance (APALA), AFL-CIO, Seattle Chapter and allies urges Seattle Central College to RETAIN its Culinary Arts Program, Maritime Academy, Wood Technology and Apparel Design programs. Leading with an equity lens means funding faculty salaries and rebuilding programs.
Our immigrant, refugee and communities of color depend on community colleges as the Open Door to higher education. Seattle Central's fiscal crisis must be solved another way: not by reducing these programs which directly lead to well-paying jobs and careers and not by firing program faculty and staff.
We stand in solidarity with AFT Seattle 1789, WFSE 304 and AFT Seattle Professional Staff 6550!
