Bike East Bay is proud to offer free educational workshops to companies, schools, and other community organizations around the East Bay, providing everyone with an engaging way to learn important skills for smart cycling. This application form is used to collect the required information, and determine whether your organization demonstrates the commitment to safe cycling needed to support a successful class. URBAN CYCLING DAY 1: CLASSROOM OR WEBINAR WORKSHOP - This fun workshop is led by an instructor certified by the League of American Bicyclists. Learn basic rules of the road, how to equip your bicycle, fit your helmet, and avoid common hazards. 2-hour, in-person or webinar workshop for adults and teens. (minimum preferred attendance: 15)

1-HOUR WORKSHOP - These sessions go in-depth with one of our certified instructors on a specific topic such as avoiding bike theft, riding after dark, carrying things by bike, bike-friendly driver classes, and more. Can be scheduled as a private workshop for employees at a company or business. 1-hour, in-person or webinar workshop. (minimum preferred attendance: 10)

URBAN CYCLING DAY 2: ROAD CLASS - Attendance at a "Day 1" Urban Cycling workshop is a prerequisite to participating in this class. On-your-bike practice sessions, working in small groups with our certified instructors to learn bike handling skills, hazard-avoidance maneuvers, and how to bike confidently on any street. Each participant receives a free set of bike lights. 5-hour, outdoor workshop for adults and teens, working bike and helmet required. (minimum preferred attendance: 25)

ADULT LEARN-TO-RIDE - For adults or teens who have either not yet learned how to ride a bike, or did a long time ago but want a refresher on the basics of balancing, pedaling, and steering. Our instructors are friendly, patient, and will help everyone get off to a great start in a secure, non-judgmental environment. 3-hour, outdoor workshop, bike and helmet required (rentals available for a small fee). (minimum preferred attendance: 12)

FAMILY CYCLING WORKSHOP - Join our certified instructors for a day of fun games, skills building, and a neighborhood ride. This class is for kids who are able to ride a bike and ready to take to the roads and pathways with their parents. Adults and youth attend together, each child receives a free prize for participating. 2.5-hour, outdoor workshop for adults and youth in grades 2-6 (approx.), bike and helmet required. (minimum preferred attendance: 25 - including adults and youth participants)

YOUTH BIKE RODEO - Similar to our family workshop above, but with kids bikes and helmets provided. 3-hour, outdoor workshop for youth in grades 2-6 (approx.), with each child spending about half an hour in the course. Best scheduled as part of a larger event. (minimum preferred attendance: 25)
