If you are planning on joining the Mississippi Stand caravan this is important information you should know:
1: Mississippi Stand is no longer stationary! We plan to travel and fight DAPL from start of construction to the end of construction on the black snake. We ask that those who join the caravan understand this transition from camp campaign to mobile campaign and provide their own tents and/or other alternative shelter that is flexible enough to be able to move at a moments notice and can function in both warm weather or very cold weather depending on the time of season and where we are at. We have a growing mobilization fund however in this transition we ask that water protectors bring what they need to be self sufficient in terms of food and shelter.
2. We are a mobile Non Violent Direct Action campaign! Therefore, all who will be involved in the caravan must have taken or be willing to take a nonviolent direct action training and a security culture training before being involved in actions and action planning meetings.
3. There is a zero tolerance policy for calling the police in our caravan. Due to the threat posed to us by law enforcement and the past and current acts of violence against indigenous people and people of color at the hands of police, this is a code of conduct that is meant to keep all those involved with the caravan safe.
4: There is a zero tolerance policy for sexual assault and sexual harassment. Those who commit such acts will be told to leave immediately.
5: There is a zero tolerance policy for racism, sexism, and bigotry against LGBT individuals.
6. If you do not know anyone currently in the caravan you must call our camp number before joining the caravan. You can reach us at 314-971-6304.
