MyJourney is a weekend-long retreat in July (28 - 29) for incoming first year UC commuter students. The goal of the retreat is to introduce these students to the UC community, connect them with resources on campus, and help them transition into their first year at U of T.
The MyJo executive team is responsible for assisting in planning, organizing, and managing the retreat alongside the Off-Campus commissioner & deputy. The executives will start their work in the beginning of May, and will attend meetings throughout the summer leading up to the retreat.
Executive responsibilities include:- Support the planning, preparation, and execution of the retreat- Hire, assist, and support the training of the MyJo leaders- Attend summer meetings from May-July- Act as positive role models for both the MyJourney delegates and leaders - Organizing interactive classic events
Individual executive responsibilities may include: - Individual event organisation (for example: Amazing Race, Scavenger Hunt, Murder Mystery, etc.)- Digital design of retreat materials (posters, t-shirts, etc.)- Organisation of "Alumni Social" event - liaising with Faculty, Staff, and Alumni- Social Media Promotion- Event set-up (including lifting and moving materials & equipment)- Food/Meal planning and organization
