Thank you for your interest in collaborating with ALAS to represent local immigrant youth who are unable to afford private representation and do not have access to public defense in immigration proceedings.

Cases usually take a small amount of time spread out over a few years, so the commitment is a little bit over an extended period of time.

Louisiana-barred attorneys who generously offer to volunteer with the Immigrant Children's Defense Coalition will be contracted to attend the next Special Immigrant Juvenile Status CLE training offered by the ProBono Project and Catholic Charities. In addition, those who volunteer to represent a young person will also be eligible for CLE credit through pro bono client representation.
