2. Copyright and Intellectual Propertya) I will not make copies of any material distributed to me by PBV, unless I am given direct written permission to do so. If such permission is granted, I will copy or print such material in its entirety, including the PBV logo or letterhead and authorship (if present), so as not to alter the original meaning and context of the content, and I will cite authorship where it is due. Any copies made will be for my own reference only, and for the management of the intended patient only.
3. Liabilitya) Due to the biological nature of behaviour, PBV cannot be held liable for any future costs (monetary or otherwise) related to any behaviour problem that my pet may currently have or may subsequently develop, nor will PBV be liable for any injury or damage that my pet may cause to any person, animal or property in any context in the future. b) I acknowledge that although PBV may recommend other professionals (such as veterinarians or other animal professionals), PBV cannot be held liable for any recommendations made by such professionals.c) I understand that, as the owner of my pet, I am fully responsible for any damages caused by my pet at all times, as outlined by the NSW Companion Animals Act.d) I will follow all recommendations given to me by PBV staff to the best of my ability, and will encourage others who come in contact with my pet to do the same.
4. Privacya) PBV will not disclose my personal details or my pet’s medical records to any third party, unless I have given PBV permission to do so, or where required by law. The following exceptions apply:i. I consent to allowing PBV to contact my pet’s current or previous veterinarian(s), behaviourist(s) and/or trainer(s) in order to discuss my pet’s case management, until my pet’s case is closed or the training class is completed, unless I specifically request the staff not to. ii. I acknowledge that my trainer or other PBV staff may discuss my pet’s case with other veterinarians or trainers in a professional capacity, or use such information for teaching or research purposes. In such an event, no information identifying me or my pet will be shared.b) I consent to having my pet photographed or videoed during a consultation or training sessions. I consent for this material to be used on the PBV website, advertising material or in social media promotions, unless specifically requested in writing.
5. Fees, Refunds and Participation in Classesa) The course fee must be paid in full upfront via credit card or bank transfer upon booking to secure my position in the class. My position in the class is not guaranteed until this fee is received into PBV’s account.b) The course fee is non-refundable for any reason as I am securing my position for the entire course at the expense of other potential customers.c) A refund will only be considered if:i. PBV have cancelled the class, in which case PBV staff will make all reasonable attempts to contact me to communicate this change of plans and to issue the refund. ii. I am discontinuing the course due to unplanned, extenuating circumstances, such as my pet’s death, severe illness or hospitalisation, in which case a medical certificate from my vet will be required.b) In the event of a refund, the amount refunded will be pro-rated in line with the number of classes missed.c) I understand that not all dogs are suitable for group classes. Any dog showing overt signs of aggression (lunging, barking, snapping, biting) another animal or human, or serve fearfulness or anxiety may be asked to leave the class for the welfare of the dog and others in the class. In such cases, the cost of the remainder of the class (pro-rated) may be offered as credit to put towards private training with one of PBV’s staff.d) Refunds or credits will be issued at the sole discretion of PBV’s director.
