REGION 8 HEALTHCARE SECTOR PARTNERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship has been established to strengthen the healthcare pipeline for the San Luis Valley and encourage individuals to choose a career pathway in healthcare. The scholarship is designed to assist San Luis Valley resident healthcare students at Adams State University or Trinidad State Junior College. There are three scholarships available in the amount of $2,000 each; priority will be given to first-year students. The scholarship submission deadline is July 9, 2018. Scholarship awards will be announced by August 10, 2018.

1. Student must have applied for full-time admission to Adams State University or Trinidad State Junior College, declare their major in a healthcare-related field, and be a prior student from one of the 14 school districts in the San Luis Valley or be a permanent resident of the San Luis Valley.
2. Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (in a system where 4.0 is the highest grade attainable) and composite ACT score of 19 or higher or combined SAT score of 820 or higher.
3. Provide an essay summarizing: the reason(s) you need scholarship assistance, the field of healthcare you will be studying and why you are interested in that field, and plans for staying in the SLV community.
4. Submit a letter of recommendation from a high school teacher or professional or other individual professional familiar with your academics.
