Fort William Curling Club 2016 / 17 - U21 Curling Development Program Registration
Based on the development of many players in U21 curling during the past season the Fort William Curling Club will run a Development League for advanced and high-performance athletes who aspire to compete at local, provincial and national levels.

The league will run on Saturday afternoons from 1:00 – 4:00 PM weekly beginning in October and run through to the end of March. A limit of 32 athletes will be accepted for the program with applicants from all curling clubs welcome.

Registrations will be accepted based on the following criteria:
• Meet NOCA age guidelines for U21, U18, and high school curling
• Minimum of 2 years curling experience
• Have competed in Regional and Provincial Play downs
• Have participated in NOCA Tim Horton’s Youth Challenges
• Attended the NOCA Amethyst Curling Camp in the past two years
• Preference is for teams to enter with a coach

Detailed on and off ice instruction and coaching will include:
• Complete delivery analysis
• Weight judgement during delivery and sweeping
• Brushing / sweeping skill development
• Strategy
• Competition game preparation
• Positional responsibilities
• Mental Preparation
