2024 Buffalo AFL-CIO Labor Day Parade
On behalf of the WNY Area Labor Federation and Buffalo Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, we extend this invitation for you and your members/organization to attend the 2024 Labor Day Parade and Cookout, on Monday, September 2, 2024. Each year the parade gets bigger and better. This event is a great opportunity to show the community that Labor is alive and well in WNY!

The annual Buffalo AFL-CIO Labor Day Parade and Cookout is in South Buffalo and our theme is "Honoring Our Past, Committing to Our Future." This theme pays tribute to the sacrifices of workers who have paved the way for labor rights and acknowledges the ongoing struggles for fair treatment and equality. As we honor those who have been lost in the fight for workers' rights, we also commit to continue their legacy by advocating for safer working conditions, fair wages, and respect for all workers.

PLEASE NOTE: This year's parade will begin one hour earlier than previous years. Line up begins at 10AM, and the parade begins at 11AM. Locals are encouraged to make floats (no larger than 12 feet) and march in groups with your banner, signs. Be sure to join us at the cookout immediately after the parade. There will be food, soda & water, a band & fun for all.

This is a non-partisan labor march celebrating the achievements and history of labor and the labor movement. Political parties are welcome to join labor for our parade. Any pamphlets, flyers, or banners must NOT discriminate or attack any one person, party, or organization and will not be allowed. Thank you for following all rules to ensure a safe and fun event for all. Politicians may walk with the Union of your choice. If you are bringing a vehicle, you will line up at Section 6.

Principal Officers or designee, please fill out either this online form or the paper copy mailed to you to register your union/group for parade participation.

The annual Labor Day Mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church (450 Abbott Rd., Buffalo) at 9AM. At the time of presentation of gifts, union members will be able to present tools of their trade for blessing.
