HUXQB will meet from 7:30-9:30pm Monday - Thursday evenings. Attendance at each session is expected. This is not a class where you can skip a night if you have something better to do.
Your application must be approved as there is a limit of 15 on each voice part. That balance is critical because this is not a chorus activity; a quartet is counting on you.
If you are participating in one of the main XQ Brigades in 2017, you'll already have the music package. Otherwise, there is a $35 fee to cover the licensing cost of the music package. While most participants are men, women are also welcome to apply if they have the voice range for one of the parts.
The success of the HUXQB event hinges on full preparation by each participant. Full preparation means that upon arrival, you must have memorized and be ready to quartet (with three similarly prepared singers) all eight repertoire arrangements. The arrangements include a fair degree of challenge, and a few are very challenging—this is "eXtreme Quartetting." Those arriving less than fully prepared will be excluded from Brigade participation. Coming unprepared is simply not an option.
Since this event is specifically for more accomplished singers, an application and review process is necessary. The Application Review Committee takes into account all parts of each application and is especially looking for quartetting capabilities and work ethic.
Please fill out this application form completely and accurately. At least two references are required. Applications will be reviewed promptly, but several days may be needed to contact references if you are new to Brigades. If accepted, you will be advised how to pay fees due before the music and tracks can be released.
APPLY NOW — to repeat ourselves, a maximum of 15 per voice part will be admitted! Besides, you'll want to get your music and tracks as soon as possible to start learning this phenomenal repertoire!
(Remember that you must also be registered for Harmony University and will need to sign up for the class when you select your other classes.)
