2019 Michigan Division for Early Childhood Conference - CALL FOR PROPOSALS
This year's conference will be held on April 26, 2019 at Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant.

The deadline for proposal submission is October 31, 2018.

This year's theme is Promoting and Supporting Resilience.
The theme for our conference this year is 'Promoting and Supporting Resilience'. According to the science of child development, to promote and support resilience, programs and services should: 1. Support responsive relationships for children and adults, 2. Strengthen core life skills, and 3. Reduce sources of stress in the lives of children and families. Session proposals addressing the following topics will be given top consideration:
Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Toxic Stress
Cultural Competence
Implicit Bias
Mindfulness, being present
Resilience
Social-emotional Supports
Strategies to support children in inclusive settings
Trauma Informed Care

Session Proposals should be relevant to family members, early interventionists, early childhood and early childhood special education professionals, related service personnel, administrators, faculty, college students or policy makers representative of cross-sector personnel.

DEC Recommended Practices
All presenters MUST identify two (2) to three (3) DEC Recommended Practices that will be addressed during the session. DEC Recommended Practices may be found at http://www.dec-sped.org/dec-recommended-practices. Proposal descriptions should include alignment to the DEC Recommended Practices that are highlighted.
