Greeneville Middle School Band Enrollment for 6th Grade Beginning Band 2020-2021 School Year
Please complete this form if your child is interested in participating in 6th grade band at Greeneville Middle School for the 2020-2021 school year. Please ensure all information is completed accurately. Due to COVID-19, we were unable to have our instrument placement session on April 4, however, we will properly place students on instruments at the beginning of the school year. Students will be temporarily assigned to a band class, but the class may change due to the instrument choice.
Band is a related arts class held during the school day at Greeneville Middle School. Your child will have band as one of those RA classes, and they will still have another related arts class such as PE, art, technology, Microsoft IT, chorus, general music, etc.
Band will not conflict with sports. Many students have the misunderstanding that band and sports conflict. There are a couple of possible conflicts during the students' 8th grade year, but coaches and I work it out so that students can participate in both.
You do not have to have any prior music training or background knowledge to participate in band. We start everyone from the very beginning!

What instrument(s) do you think you want to try? It's best to choose at least 3 to try, and we can go from there. If you have no idea, that is okay too!
Percussion: You will have to learn bells, drums, and a variety of different instrument. Percussion is not only the drums.
I have no idea what I want to play! (And that is totally okay)
