Students in these programs will be enrolled in Illinois Central College Language and Humanities classes during their time abroad. The cornerstone of the program is the excursion and experiences the students will have while being abroad. Students will focus their course load on language learning as well as engaging themselves into the native way of life.
An Illinois Central College faculty will be on-site during the program to serve as a faculty liaison to the students, the foreign institution faculty, administration, and ICC. While this individual will be a support for students and other individuals, s/he will also be investigating university relations for the future with ICC and institutions abroad.
Students enroll in class and earn ICC credits. The cost for students to participate in the program includes instructional cost for the language institute, course-related materials, transatlantic flight, ICC faculty fee, student housing, airport transportation from Peoria to/from O’Hare, excursions and course-related field-trips, insurance, visa (if applicable) and orientation materials. Not included is passport, personal expenses, and meals.
The application deadline is March 15th for the summer term. Applications must be received at Illinois Central College by this date. However, the program will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so prospective applicants are encouraged to apply early.
