Studs to Buds
Poor breeding techniques and mismanagement of mares and stallions lead to thousands of unwanted horses being born each year. As a result, equine rescue organizations across the nation have become overwhelmed with these horses. Our goal is to help control this over-population by reducing the number of unwanted births. By encouraging owners to geld their stallions and offering free or reduced cost gelding services, we can cut down on over-population in our state.

The Stud’s to Bud’s gelding program is available in most locations in Tennessee and to anyone who meets the criteria. Funding is limited, so it is offered first come first served.. Approval of applications will be on a case by case basis. We request, if at all possible, repayment be made for gelding services. This will help the program to continue and provide gelding services to others in need.
