For the Campus Band there is no audition for entrance/acceptance; however, you will need to submit a short example of your playing to help with seating the ensemble most effectively (see below).
Enrollment - All students must enroll in ENS 346.002 (2 credit course through SMTD) CPB - ENS 346.002 - W 7 - 9 PM
Instruments - If you need to borrow an instrument, please indicate it below.
Assessment requirements - 1. ALL players will need to play a full-range chromatic scale and an approximate 60 second excerpt of your choice. This should exhibit the best qualities of your playing and should consist of any music with which you are most comfortable. (This can include particular instrument parts from large ensemble pieces - please skip over large sections of rests).
2. Additionally, percussionists enrolled in Campus Band - please email Dr. Brown (email@example.com) with a short description of your experience with the various concert percussion instruments.
3. If you are auditioning for multiple ensembles (playing in multiple bands is very much encouraged!!!) and one of the ensembles includes the University Band, the UBand excerpts will cover both auditions. Assessment due date - Saturday, 9/9/17 by 11:59 PM.
Assessment submission - Please create a YouTube video/recording of your assessment and submit only the YouTube LINK(S). Please make sure all of the videos have privacy settings set to UNLISTED or PUBLIC so that they may be accessed by the conductors.
Assessment specifics - The playing assessment is for chair placement/part assignment in the Campus Bands - NOT for admittance. Anyone with previous experience is welcome to be a part of the Campus Bands.
