Submissions are now open for the Museums Aotearoa 2020 conference, on the theme of LOCATION/DISLOCATION: object, experience, context, place.

We invite you to interpret this theme broadly, in bold and exciting ways which spark discussion and inspire the audience.

We are open to diverse interpretations of the theme, including but certainly not limited to:
• contexts of collection, care and display
• object and taonga diaspora and isolation
• manaakitanga in diverse settings
• audience experiences of place
Consider the conference theme broadly to highlight your own practice, and that of our sector in general.

We welcome innovative presentations in a variety of formats: formal talks, panel discussions, workshops, facilitated conversations/kōrero, 5-minute ‘lightning’ summaries, performance pieces. Be imaginative, spark discussion, engage the audience and use the location of the Treaty Grounds to its full advantage.

You may present as a group, or as an individual. We offer several time options for presentation: up to 20 minutes, up to 30 minutes, up to 90 minutes. We will group together related presentations of 5, 20 or 30 minutes into sessions which include sufficient time for discussion. We will also select a suitable chair for your session

Please complete each part of the form and stick to the suggested word limit.

Submissions close at 5pm, 20 October 2019; no late submissions will be accepted.

Please note that not all submissions will be admitted to the programme.
