The children in our communities are getting ready to head back to school but unfortunately not all students will have the supplies they need to start the year off right.
Through your participation with the our Back to School Drive, your local church, family, business, or organization is able to help our children look forward to the first day of school! We help provide school supplies to those in need not only in August but throughout the entire year. Backpacks get damaged, lost, or could be left where returning to get them may not be safe for the family. This is why our School Supply closet is stocked year round so we are ready to help when the need arises.
School supplies in need include by not limited to: binders, pencils, pens, backpacks, paper, scissors, markers, crayons, rulers, pencil sharpeners, calculators, pencil holders, highlighters, staplers, and more. Our greatest need every year is for gender neutral, backpacks.
We count on donations from local churches, families, businesses, and organizations to help keep our supply closest stocked. We are always accepting donations for toiletries for our Kids Care Program, along with items for Back to School, and, gift cards and monetary donations in order to purchase items for our kids and families in need.
Want to help? Participating is easy!
First, sign up your local church, family, business, or organization, by filling out this short Back to School Drive form so we have all your information.
Next, set the dates for your Back to School drive and share with everyone who will be participating. Have a box ready to go to collect Back to School items in.
Finally, contact Keri Scougale at DCC to set up a time to bring your donations by. Stay for a photo op so we can share on our social media page!
Please let donors know that checks can be made to Children In Crisis, Inc. and mailed to Keri Scougale at 303 E. Richardson Ave., Summerville, SC 29483. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Thank you in advance for supporting the children and families of Dorchester Children's Center and helping us to create an all around happier Back to School season for all!
We thank YOU!
