What’s up, groovy people,
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at this year’s edition of Groove & Bass Festival.
Groove and Bass Festival strives to be a platform for creativity and diversity. Our goal has always been to create a space where talented and like minded individuals can thrive, collaborate and hopefully make meaningful long lasting connections. The most important and irreplaceable part of the festival is the community that drives our passion. As a volunteer at Groove and Bass you will experience a new way of participating in this community. Whether it's learning new skills or just being part of the behind the scenes action at a electronic music and arts festival, we welcome you! Without a dedicated volunteer team, this project would not be possible.
There are a variety of volunteer teams available. Please select your top three choices based on the roles that best match your skills and interests. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences, but positions are limited, so thank you for understanding if you do not get your first choice this year. Priority may also be given to returning volunteers.
Preferred shifts will be assigned on a first come, first served basis once both of the following have been received:
1. Completed application form
2. E-transfer deposit
This means that the earlier you sign up, the better your chances of choosing your preferred team and shift time.
Volunteer shift expectations
All volunteers working during the festival are expected to complete 2 shifts of 8 hours each, for a total of 16 hours.
The exception is for volunteers working with the Gate or Parking teams. These volunteers are required to complete 2 shifts of 6 hours each in exchange for their festival ticket.
Please indicate whether you would prefer to work during the day or in the evening, and we will do our best to accommodate your preference.
Pre-festival set-up team
Volunteers interested in joining the Set-up Team are asked to arrive approximately one week before the festival. Exact arrival dates will be confirmed closer to the event, unless otherwise discussed with your team lead.
If you cannot commit to the full week, we still encourage you to apply.
Set-up shifts run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and mostly involve manual labour. Volunteers on the set-up team will receive 2 delicious in-house meals per day. Please bring additional food if you would like more than two meals per day. We will have fridges and coolers on site for food storage during set-up.
Post-festival take-down team
All volunteers working post-festival will be asked to stay and help for 2 to 3 days after the festival.
Volunteer deposit
All volunteers are required to submit a $250 deposit by Interac e-transfer to volunteers@groovenbass.com. This deposit will be refunded after the festival once your assigned shifts have been fully completed and confirmed.

If you have already purchased a ticket, please note that tickets are non-refundable. You will still be required to submit the volunteer deposit, and you may resell your ticket if needed.
This policy is a necessary precaution to help prevent no-shows, which we have experienced in the past and which can create serious staffing shortages during festival operations.
Deposit Policy
Deposits are non-refundable if you miss your scheduled shifts. Our operations depend on committed volunteer teams, so when you sign up, please make sure you are ready to show up and be part of the team.
In return for your support, Groove & Bass offers
-
A free early entry festival pass for Thursday at 12 PM
-
A free ticket to the full festival experience, including camping
-
The opportunity to learn new skills in the festival and events industry
-
New connections and friendships within our artistic community
In some cases, remuneration may be available for volunteers taking on additional hours or specialized skilled work. This can be discussed individually. Please reach out if you are interested in contributing in another capacity.
We will do our very best to place you on your preferred team, but we encourage you to join with an open mind, no matter where you land. Our volunteer program is designed to be fun, welcoming, and community-driven, with a spirit that feels different from a regular job. The goal is to experience the festival from a new perspective, not simply to attend for free.
Events like Groove & Bass Festival rely on volunteer support to keep tickets accessible and underground culture thriving. Thank you in advance for being part of it.
Our number one priority is the well-being of our community. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at: volunteers@groovenbass.com
