The Founding Generation Summer Fellowship program provides funding to qualifying students who wish to conduct infancy research in the lab of a researcher for an 8-week summer period (20 hrs per week).
Anyone who is a regular member of ICIS can be a mentor. There are no restrictions on where mentors are geographically located or the institution where they work. Mentors must agree to mentor the student (remotely or in person for 2022) for an 8-week period; ensure a stimulating research experience; define a project and associated tasks that the student can begin immediately and complete during the summer internship; provide one-on-one contact with the student during weekly standing meetings; and identify individuals who will train the student and regularly monitor student progress.
Researchers who are interested in mentoring an undergraduate student are encouraged to submit their name, institution and a one-paragraph description of the planned research by completing the information below by January 10th. This information will be shared on the ICIS web page for interested students to review.
